A spy, like a writer, lives outside the mainstream population. He steals his experience through bribes and reconstructs it. -- John Le Carre

Not running a game may be dangerous for me, I've been thinking of spy games again. Though not necessarily exclusively Age of Paranoia or any of the other games I've run (like Pantellos) though maybe a bit of both. Aybe a one-shot of some sort is called for. Or maybe I should rewatch some Sandbaggers, but that would probably get me more interested.

I wonder if I should have suggested a spy game.

Or maybe I should just buckle down and choose a game already. Last night we played some with Active Exploits and I must admit I really liked it. Needs some polishing to be setting specific but it works very nicely, and its diceless which is a big draw after playing HeroQuest.

Speaking of one-shots I really should try to get a regular group together again, there’s a lot of systems I want to experiment with and we don’t seem to have as much of that going on these days.

Active Exploits? Neat. I have two copies of printed book (I recieved them from the author for the review I wrote) so let me know if I could lend you one. I could see AE being a great fit for the a spy game.

Well, you know that Ron Edwards is coming out with a new spy game in the near future. Although, given the fact that Vincent thinks it's subtle, it's probably nigh-unplayable unless you are Ron.

Besides, I'm all about Alexander's March.

Also, I'm very, very interested in Mortal Coil. I believe I'm actually meeting with the author this weekend although not to play that particular game, sadly.

Let me know, as I'd be definitely interested... -- I need to get back to work on The Files one of these days, as well...

Is it 1st or 2nd edition?

And have you looked at any of their setting books?

2nd edition. The setting books I've read have been Dreamwalker (pretty good) and CORPS (quite good, although I'm sure you can always DIY your own conspiracy at the drop of a hat).

Mortal Coil looks pretty darn slick. I haven't given it a full read-through yet, but it's very promising.

Also, I saw a preview copy of Spione. Even if the system is total crap it comes with about 80 pages of reference material on East/Wester German spy networks from the 50's to 90's. I think it's going to have to go on your shelf just for that.
