Watch the baby
Jun. 5th, 2005 07:40 pmToday we went to visit
chrislehrich his wife and the new baby Sam, who was about what you'd expect for any baby that young, precious, hungry and very vocal -- and very beautiful. All good things to see. Both
peaseblossom and I wanted to hold the baby but neither of us felt comfortable asking, as we don't know S very well and not every new mother takes kindly to pass the baby. A game I always loved to play, basically its my policy that if you enter the house you interact with the kids, and for babies that means you hold them. Its a real test to see if I want to hang around someone, especially games. You have to deal well with kids. Its part of that whole community thing I desperately yearn for but don't always feel I get.
But Sam, yeah he's cute and Chris and his wife are justifiably proud.
I also got a copy of Chris's draft on his next book and a bunch of questions that he's trying to resolve. I look forward to reading it as it appears to be a lot more wide-interest than his first book which did teach me a heck of a lot about Agrippa. I'm also tickled pink that I was asked to offer my comments on the draft, being rather a dabller in the field that he makes his academic home in.
Send the kids to bed a little early. Both were extremely tired and needed to sleep. Though the boy isn't. He just called me into his room to ask why the body made "boogers".
I should probably go and fold laundry now.
