So I'm working on story trees for a variety of forgery related topics for this game I'm going to run for Jess. I have most broad areas of forgery but not musical forgery. So, public brainstorming powers activated!

So are you thinking something like:

* A composition by Mozart [or whomever] is newly-discovered, but is a forgery. Bonus points if it was forged by a contemporary.

* A new recording is unearthed from the Beatles archives. It's a forgery, but somebody did a very good job. Is it a modern forgery (perhaps by someone completely unexpected, say D.J. Shadow), or a contemporary one (George proving to himself, if nobody else, that he was as good a composer and musician as the other three put together)?

* A current band [pick your favorite] performs a show. It's actually not that band at all, but a cover band or other set of impersonators.
