A few days of Vacation

I've taken two days of vacation next wek (Tuesday and Wednesday) and so the family is going on a cople of trips to escape the madness that will be Boston.

One of those days, Tuesday, we'll be ehading to the Northampton/Amherest area. Any recommendations on stuff we should do thats good for a 4 year old?

Sadly, most of the stuff I know about out there is decidedly not kid related.

There is the Dinosaur Museum (http://www.roadsideamerica.com/attract/MASOUnash.html). But it may have closed, or it may be too sparse to hold his attention. If I think of anything I'll let you know.

And right after that we'll bring him to the big ball of yarn. I'm always leery of the family vacation potential of anything that gets a page on roadside attractions.

Yes, it's a very very good store. aliwings loves the manga selection, and we always wager whether we'll be spending more money there or at spacecrime.

Good idea about the vacation during the DNC

We would have done the exact same thing.. (especially since we are planning to be away anyway next weekend). I figured I probably would have probably walked home most days since the Red Line would have been stuffed with folks going to Alewife... and I really don't do well with crowds and the like.

Enjoy your time off. YOu deserve it after all the craziness that I've heard is going on at MLNM (somehow makes me happy I'm here..)

Here's a suggestion for Western MA, but not sure if you'd like this or not... how about a trip to Six Flags in Agawam? Its a bit expensive, but it may be a good time. There is also a Zoo there somewhere..
