Well well, The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe is being made into a big movie. I was wondering how long it would take for the studios to start pillaging the other big fantasy books (Charles William would be ool if anyone hollywoodish happens to stumble across this). The director of Shrek is attached to this, which could be good, I'm not wholy convinced yet based on his previous work.

And now for my pet peeve. I hate that the Lewis estate has refiguredThe Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe. Drives me nuts, the books are eprfectly fine read as written.

Drives me crazy too. Any word on whether the new movie is going to use the real versions of the story or the sanitized homogenized versions?

Wait, what are you talking about? The Lewis estate did what to them, exactly? What'd I miss?

Well the order now has LWW as #2. HarperCollins and the C. S. Lewis estate also supposedly was going to do some sanitizing of The Chronicles of Narnia of all references to Christianity. But I haven't read the latest edition so I can't be positive of that, I just have what I've read in the news. And there was all the talk a while back about 'new' Narnia books, but I haven't heard anything else about that.

I don't understand these family estates of the Inklings, they seem to have weird relations to their ancestors works.

I find myself intensely curious as to how anyone could possibly sanitize this series of all references to Christianity. Maybe when they're done, they can strip all the references to outer space out of This Hideous Strength.
