Arrested Development

peaseblossom and I just finished watching the 1st season of Arrested Development last night. I found the first third really funny, the 2nd third funny and the last third tolerable. I think the problem is that they have a very set pattern to the humor and the writers don't stray from it much. Which makes the show very predictible by the end. A good example of a tv show that might be very fun to watch weekly but doesn't survive the dvd well.

I agree, mostly. When they got into the whole Marta storyline, I think they were trying to hard to deal with a serious type story and lost track of some of the funny. But I thought the last few episodes, particularly those with Kitty, were good althogh I didn't care for the Julia Louise-Dryfus story arc. The second season I think was much funnier. I have those dvds around here somewhere and can burn them for you if you'd like.

Season 3 is shaping up...strangely.
