Sherlock Holmes is...Peter Pan
Jul. 19th, 2010 10:19 amSteven Moffat, the current showrunner for Doctor Who and geek flavor of the moment, is doing an "update" of Sherlock Holmes. Basically Holmes and Watson as chaarcters in 2010 from what I can tell. You can see some trailers here
Now, Sherlock Holmes does not need to be an older man (and I think most tv adaptations have put him on the older side), but I'll be honest Moffat has huge problems with his love of boy-men, and from these trailers I don't expect this show to be any different.
I also look forward to the hatchet job he does on Adler. Because it being Moffat he will need to use and abuse Adler.
Now all this is coming from a person who enjoyed the recent Ritchie Holmes movie for what it was. Maybe I'll be surprised, but at the current moment I don't have much faith/interest in this show.
