[livejournal.com profile] bryant was so impressed by Black Road and the concept behind Amber cons in general that he has decided to organize one around 20by20. I, deciding to put my money where my mouth is have volunteered to help Bryant out.

I like the concept. A small group of con attendees, under 100 (first year maybe 30-50) who register for games far in advance, recieving their characters ahead of time (or even building them prior to the session). It has many of the things I've liked about Intercon about applied to tabletops and on a smaller scale.

And there is a definite need for community around the concepts that 20x20 has championed, and I think doing a con is a good way to build it.

Of course the way these things work out we'd probably choose an October date. May is the only other option and I'm not sure that would work out hotel wise (we're looking at the same hotel Black Road uses).

I think definitely October. Bear in mind that we need more time than usual for cons for people to get games in and schedule people.

I am really stoked about this.

October is good.

This should be fun, I think gaming needs to move away from the ubercon idea and explore different venues a little more ambitiously so its time to do it.

October? It's a little quick isn't it?

Oh. Next October.

OK, I'm in. I'm running stuff.

What are the ground rules for submissions?
